With a blend of live editing and dynamic footage, we brought Siemens Energy’s landmark international conference to life, capturing the energy of the event and the voices of industry leaders to create compelling content that resonated on the big screen and beyond.
Siemens Energy, in collaboration with Lincoln University, organized a landmark event for their global customers in the energy industry. This conference was a significant affair, marking the first of its kind since lockdown, and had been in the planning stages for over a year.
Big Blue Whale was brought on board to capture the essence of this event through both photography and videography. After several meetings and a site visit to the university, we established a clear plan. Our task was to document key moments, including welcome drinks, the main conference sessions, insightful vox pops with attendees, and the evening dinner featuring a prominent guest speaker. Siemens requested a same-day highlights video to be displayed during the evening event, requiring an onsite editor to ensure a polished and timely delivery.
Our team of four was well-prepared to handle this multifaceted project. We immersed ourselves in the event, capturing different elements of the conference while weaving a narrative that would resonate with the broader audience.
The vox pops we filmed became a central component of the post-event video, offering authentic, personal insights from participants that underscored the conference’s impact and value. We were able to deliver the final post-event video within three days, ensuring a fresh and timely recap for all who attended.
Our approach was to be present yet unobtrusive, allowing us to capture authentic, unscripted moments. This balance was crucial in creating a genuine feel throughout the videos, showcasing both the formal and the more relaxed moments.
The highlight of the evening was the onsite-edited video played at the dinner held at the historic Lincoln Castle. The reaction from the Siemens team was nothing short of incredible, with some even shedding tears during the first viewing—a testament to how effectively the video captured the spirit and significance of the event, reflecting their year-long dedication and hard work.
The post-event video was also a resounding success. Despite a tight turnaround, we managed to deliver a compelling, well-crafted narrative that Siemens was thrilled with. The feedback was overwhelmingly positive, solidifying our reputation as a trusted partner for high-impact corporate event coverage.
