Artemas Takes Over Kentish Town Forum – A Behind-the-Scenes Look at the Filming Setup

Artemas’ Unstoppable Rise in 2024

Artemas, one of the most streamed artists of 2024, delivered an electrifying performance at the Kentish Town Forum. Best known for his chart-topping hit “I Like the Way You Kiss Me,” which dominated charts across Europe and beyond, the artist has cemented his place as a global sensation. The track was the 10th most-streamed song worldwide last year, making this gig a must-capture event.

To do justice to the energy of Artemas’ performance, Big Blue Whale was brought in to provide a top-tier camera crew, working alongside director Naill Thask. The goal? To record high-quality 4K footage that captured every detail—from the raw emotions of the performance to the energy of the crowd. Everything was shot in 4K S-Log3, giving the post-production team ultimate flexibility.

Capturing the Magic

A mix of cameras was carefully placed throughout the venue to get the best possible shots. At the front of the venue, a static FX9 with a 70-200mm zoom lens locked in crisp, long-range views of the entire stage. Down in the pit, an FX6 on a gimbal moved fluidly to get wide-angle shots of the band, while a handheld FX9 with an Easy Rig focused on the lead vocals, ensuring every lip-sync moment was spot on. Out in the crowd, an A7S3 on a gimbal roamed freely, capturing the audience’s energy from up close. For some extra creative angles, a GH5 or GoPro was tucked behind the drums for a drummer’s-eye view, and an A7IV at the side of the stage with a 70-200mm lens added another unique perspective.

Director Naill Thask led the operation, ensuring everything ran smoothly. On cameras, Paul Hollingsworth, James Holtom, and Chris Little worked tirelessly to capture every moment from different angles. With their expertise and seamless coordination, they made sure Artemas’ performance was recorded in all its glory.
