After our successful work for Moseley Folk & Arts Festival in 2022, Big Blue Whale was invited to join the team at Mostly Jazz Funk & Soul Festival. Over the last two years, we’ve delivered a range of exciting content, including festival highlight films, onsite daily video edits, animated headliner announcement videos, and suites of social media content. The festival organisers trust us to handle every aspect of the production, whether we’re capturing headlining acts or staying late to complete same-day video edits. With our expertise, we tackle every video challenge with creativity and precision.
In 2023, our team of three covered the entire three-day festival. With two camera operators working throughout the event and an onsite editor managing footage in real time, we produced daily video edits that were released the same day. This quick turnaround was crucial for maintaining buzz and excitement around the festival, and our focus on quality ensured that each daily edit was packed with the best moments. Organisers noted a significant increase in interest when these videos hit social platforms, proving the power of fast, high-quality content.
For the 2024 festival, we were tasked with creating a series of eye-catching headliner announcement videos that combined live footage and animated elements. To meet the brief, we developed a concept featuring a unique paper effect for the animations. After the concept was approved, we implemented a streamlined process, using custom templates and animations that allowed for quick drag-and-drop editing. This method gave us the flexibility to focus on perfecting key shots while ensuring a fast turnaround. The result was a set of headliner videos that effectively built excitement and anticipation for the upcoming festival.
